“Touch of Evil”
SPECIALTY
Fridays 10:00PM – 1:00AM
May 18, 2007 was when the first episode of “Touch Of Evil” aired. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many listeners at gigs and events and have forged tremendous friendships with some of them as well. I’ve also gotten hundreds of letters from incarcerated listeners, who tell me that the show gives them something to look forward to every Friday and brings some positivity into an environment which offers very little of that. Music has gotten me through some of the hardest times in my life, so knowing that what we do can help people as well as entertain them is a powerful inspiration for me to do the best show I can each week.
A station like KSPC exposes people to music they can’t hear anywhere else, and I take that to heart while planning my playlists. I’m constantly scouring metal labels and distros to find awesome unheralded bands from all over the world so that I can introduce them to our listeners and foster the sense of community that exists in the extreme metal genre. The music we play is often abrasive and disturbing, but my sincere passion for the art form and my love of sharing great music with others is what drives everything we do on the show. KSPC exposed me to some of my favorite music of all time when I was developing as a fan, so I consider it crucial to our mission statement to do my part to perpetuate the cycle.
